Aussie Shark Rhys Howden scored an incredible 10 goals in a National Water Polo League match at Musgrave Park here in Brisbane last night. The Beijing Olympian and member of the national team at last year´s FINA World Championships in Rome, lodged what is thought to be an NWPL record as VICI Brisbane Barracudas sent off the Sealevel Cronulla Sharks 21-7.

He scored hat-tricks in the first and third periods and doubles in the other two in a game where the Barracudas were only 9-6 at halftime but blew away the visitors 8-1 in the third period and kept them scoreless for the last 13 and a half minutes.
The champion Barracudas women won their encounter 16-7 against the Sharks to remain top of the ladder.

In Melbourne, another Beijing Olympian hit form with Victorian Tiger Sam McGregor netting five goals as his team ripped apart Hunter Hurricanes 17-9. The Tigers women set the tone for the evening with a 10-5 margin over the Hurricanes with Emma Jo Grahame and Jade Hanson scoring three each for the victors.

In Perth, Sydney University Lions held on to beat hosts UWA Torpedoes men 10-8 . The Torpedoes men will be kicking themselves, having had the better of the first half 4-3 but lost the third period 6-2. The Lions women were too strong for Torpedoes, winning 13-3, with Alicia Brightwell netting six goals.
