One day after the World League match between Germany and France, an additional friendly match was contested in Brandenburg, Germany. This time the German new-look team took a clear victory by five goals, 12-7 (2-2, 4-2, 3-2, 3-1), one day after a lucky 7-6 victory in the World League clash at Magdeburg. Germany´s two-time Olympians Tobias Kreuzmann and Marc Politze scored three goals each.

In the second match Germany´s head coach Hagen Stamm was trusting two newcomers, David Kleine and Ilja Immermann, and a goalkeeper with only one international match, 19-year-old Moritz Schenkel from Krefeld-based national leage club SV Bayer 08 Uerdingen. 18-year-old Immermann even scored two in his first international match on senior level. The day before, another player, 18-year-old Maurice Jüngling has made his debut.

The second match between both teams which was contested in a pool with a movable roof like in Dubrovnik, Croatia was levelled for almost 22 minutes. Germany was leading 6-4 at halftime, but France tie the match after the changing to bring the score to 6-6. But the Germans stroke back in the counter-move and scored five unanswered goals, bringing the score to 11-6 in the 27th minute.
